| The subversion repositories have developed a problem that means their usage isn't advisable. for this reason they've been taken offline while the problem is fixed. I'm hopeful it won't take long and apologise for the problems. | |
| 2nd Feb 2006 : New version of the IM kit released | |

It's been quite a while since the last alpha, and a lot have changed since that. In short, several bug fixes and new bugs probably introduced, two new protocols (Jabber and Google Talk), a new client with emoticons and updated user manual. For more specifics, check the included documents! The new version can be downloaded from BeBits. The ZETA version is compiled for R1.1, there could be trouble with earlier versions. If so, let us know. Please register bugs in our bugtracker. We are always searching for developers. If you want to contribute, please contact us on our mailinglist.

| How would people feel if this site carried ads? I was debating adding some Google Adwords, but as I'm not sure what the reaction would be, I thought I'd ask for feedback! Anyone care? | |

| It's taken a while but SVN commit should now be working properly again. Apologies for the delay, but then it took people long enough to tell me it wasn't working :-) If people can test and let me know that would be great. | |
| 23rd Sep 2005 : Google Talk support coming to BeOS IM kit | |
The Italian developer Andrea Anzani, who added Jabber support for the IM kit, has now also added support for Google Talk.
Development is still in an early stage, and the code is still not uploaded to the source tree.
The beautiful Google Talk icon is made by zuMi.

| 2nd Sep 2005 : Repositories not available | |
| Following the recent upgrade of the host machine for BeClan I decided to try and stablise the configurations and builds of the servers that it was running. One of these provides the subversion access to the BeClan repositories. This server has proven to be the hardest to get into a suitably stable configuration and so has taken a little longer than I would have liked. Work is still ongoing and I hope to have it available later today. Apologies for the lack of service. | |
| 1st Jul 2005 : New Version of InfoPopper | |

The BeOS IM Kit team today released a new version of their notification tool InfoPopper. The InfoPopper started it's life as a part of the Instant Messaging Kit, but as the developers saw that it could be useful for others applications too, they decided to make it in to a separate project. The InfoPopper can already show notifications for a number of applications including SoundPlay, MDR and Vision. Any application can send a message to the InfoPopper to have information displayed to the user. It's flexible, and it's easy to developers to add support in their apps for it. We hope that many developers will read through the included documentation for developers, and that applications will be updated to support InfoPopper's notfication system. ZETA binaries can downloaded from BeBits. BeOS binaries will be made available soon. Sources are available in our IM Kit repo. |

| The Wiki was getting some pretty heavy abuse by spammers so has been taken offline for the time being. We're hoping to bring it back with some extra security that should stop repeats of the abuse. | |

| After some discussion BeClan is pleased to open it's bug tracker. We've decided to go with an open source package that is simpler than Bugzilla and will hopefully allow projects that are hosted by BeClan to use easily, with a very shallow learning curve. | Following on from some of the recent discussions just to remind people that BeClan is able & willing to host open source projects on it's servers. | There is a new subversion package now avilable. It's being made available though it hasn't had much testing as of yet, so please let us know if it gives you problems. This new package requires that you have OpenSSL installed. | |
